At Los Amiguitos, children spend most of their time outdoors in our big open space with a huge garden, a variety of trees, and a hiking trail in the woods along a creek. The environment is much more calming than that of a classroom and lends itself to a learner-centered education. Children’s innate curiosity is enhanced, they are naturally led to engage with nature and develop scientific inquiry, make connections, care for living beings, become inspired, creative, and think in broader terms. They increase their observation, fine and gross motor skills and develop confidence, self-esteem and empathy.
